The ifm IT5034 (ITB31,5BBPKG/AS) is an inductive proximity sensor in a smooth tubular Ø 6.5 mm housing 50 mm long, for flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 1.5 mm. The real sensing range is 1.5 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…1.22 mm. The PNP switching output is normally open, rated at 100 mA and up to 1700 Hz on 10…30 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.4 for brass, 0.4 for aluminum and 0.2 for copper. The sensor has a specially coated brass housing with an orange PBT sensing face, connects through an M8 connector (A-coded, 3 contacts) and is rated IP65 for 0…60 °C ambient. ifm lists it for use where space is restricted and it has UL approval under file E174191.
