The ifm IS5044 (IS-2002-FRKG/AS) is an inductive proximity sensor in a rectangular housing measuring 36.8 x 10.2 x 16 mm, for flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 2 mm, which ifm classes as an increased sensing range. The real sensing range is 2 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…1.62 mm. The PNP/NPN switching output is selectable as normally open or normally closed, rated at 200 mA and up to 2000 Hz on 5…36 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.4 for brass, 0.3 for aluminum and 0.2 for copper.
