The ifm IV5004 (IVE4020BCPKG) is an inductive proximity sensor in a rectangular housing measuring 40 x 40 x 118 mm, for flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 20 mm. The real sensing range is 20 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…16.2 mm. The sensing face can be set to 5 positions. It has complementary PNP switching outputs, one normally open and one normally closed, rated at 200 mA and up to 400 Hz on 10…30 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.4 for brass, 0.3 for aluminum and 0.3 for copper. The sensor has a PA 6.6 housing with a PA 6.6 sensing face, connects through terminals for conductors up to 2.5 mm² in a terminal chamber for an M20 x 1.5 cable gland and is rated IP68 and IP69K for -25…85 °C ambient.
