The ifm IT5039 (ITB3002-BPKG/2M PVC) is an inductive proximity sensor in a smooth tubular Ø 6.5 mm housing 19 mm long, for flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 2 mm. The real sensing range is 2 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…1.6 mm. The PNP switching output is normally open, rated at 200 mA and up to 1000 Hz on 10…30 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.4 for brass, 0.3 for aluminum and 0.2 for copper. The sensor has a stainless steel housing with a PBT sensing face, connects through a 2 m PVC cable with 3 x 0.14 mm² conductors and is rated IP67 for -25…70 °C ambient. ifm lists it for use where space is restricted and it has UL approval under file E174191.
