The ifm AC509S (ClassicLine 2x2SI 2DOT 2LO) is a safe AS-Interface ClassicLine module with quick mounting technology for AS-i Safety at Work. It has four digital safety inputs and two digital outputs, with PNP inputs powered from AS-i. Its outputs are rated at 50 mA each. On the AS-i side it supports AS-i versions 2.11 and 3.0 with slave profile S-7.B.E, and it works with AS-i masters of profile M3 and M4. It runs on 26.5…31.6 V DC from the AS-i line, drawing less than 280 mA. The housing measures 103 x 45 x 44.7 mm and is made of PA. It connects to the AS-i flat cable and mounts on a TH35 DIN rail, has two M12 sockets (A-coded, 4-pin) and is rated IP67 for -25…55 °C ambient. ifm rates it to ISO 13849-1 Category 3, PL d and IEC 61508 SIL 2, with a PFH of 2.33 × 10⁻¹¹ per hour, provided the fault exclusions described in the manual are used.
