The ifm RO3103 (INCREMENTAL ENCODER BASIC LINE) is an incremental encoder with a Ø 9.525 mm hollow shaft open on one side. Its resolution can be set from 1 to 10000 pulses (factory setting 1024) over IO-Link, the outputs are HTL or TTL (factory setting HTL), the A and B channels are 90° apart, and ifm gives an accuracy of 0.1° and up to 12000 rpm. The mechanical speed limit is 12000 rpm and the starting torque is 0.02 Nm; the shaft installation depth is 27 mm and it tolerates 0.5 mm axial shaft misalignment. It runs on 4.75…30 V DC, connects through an M12 connector (A-coded, 5 contacts), measures Ø 58.5 x 69 mm and is rated IP65 and IP66 for -40…85 °C ambient.
