The ifm RM9006 (RMS0024-C24/UST) is an absolute multiturn encoder with a Ø 10 mm solid shaft and a synchro flange. It resolves 4096 steps per revolution over 4096 revolutions (24 bit) in binary code and communicates over CANopen; the factory setting is 125 kBit/s, node ID 32. ifm gives an accuracy of 0.08°. The mechanical speed limit is 6000 rpm, the starting torque is 0.05 Nm and the shaft takes 180 N axially and 180 N radially at the shaft end. It runs on 9…30 V DC, connects through an M12 connector (A-coded), measures Ø 36.8 x 76 mm and is rated IP68 and IP69K for -40…85 °C ambient.
