The ifm RB3500 (INCREMENTAL ENCODER BASIC LINE) is an incremental encoder with a Ø 6 mm solid shaft. Its resolution can be set from 1 to 10000 pulses (factory setting 1024) over IO-Link, the outputs are HTL or TTL (factory setting HTL), the A and B channels are 90° apart, and ifm gives an accuracy of 0.1° and up to 12000 rpm. The mechanical speed limit is 12000 rpm, the starting torque is 0.01 Nm and the shaft takes 40 N axially and 60 N radially at the shaft end. It runs on 4.75…30 V DC, connects through a 2 m cable (Ø 4.9 mm) with 5 x 0.14 mm² conductors, measures Ø 36.5 x 65 mm and is rated IP65 and IP66 for -40…80 °C ambient.
