The ifm IS5036 (IS-3002-APKG/AS) is an inductive proximity sensor in a rectangular housing measuring 36.8 x 10.2 x 16 mm, for flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 2 mm. The real sensing range is 2 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…1.6 mm. The PNP switching output is normally closed, rated at 200 mA and up to 800 Hz on 10…30 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.4 for brass, 0.3 for aluminum and 0.2 for copper. The sensor has a PBT housing, connects through an M8 connector (A-coded, 3 contacts) and is rated IP65 and IP67 for -25…80 °C ambient. ifm lists it for use where space is restricted.
