The ifm IO5016 (IOW2010-ARKG/UP/US-100 RT) is an inductive proximity sensor in a rectangular housing measuring 26 x 26 x 43 mm, for flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 10 mm. The real sensing range is 10 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…8.1 mm. The PNP/NPN switching output is normally open, rated at 100 mA and up to 250 Hz on 10…36 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.5 for brass, 0.4 for aluminum and 0.3 for copper. The sensor has a PA housing, connects through an M12 connector (A-coded, 4 contacts, rotatable locking) and is rated IP67 for -25…70 °C ambient. ifm lists it for use with oils and coolants.
