The ifm KG5043 (KG-3008-BPKG/NI) is a capacitive proximity sensor in an M18 x 1 threaded housing 84 mm long, for non-flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 8 mm, adjustable, with a factory setting of 8 mm. The real sensing range is 8 mm ± 10% and the operating distance is 0…6.5 mm. ifm gives correction factors of 0.4 for glass, 1 for water, 0.2 for ceramics and 0.2 for PVC. The PNP switching output is normally open, rated at 250 mA and up to 50 Hz on 10…36 V DC, with reverse polarity protection. The sensor has a PBT housing, connects through a 2 m PVC cable with 3 x 0.34 mm² conductors and is rated IP67 for -25…80 °C ambient. Supplied with two lock nuts.
