The ifm KF5001 (KFA3040BBPKG/NI/US) is a capacitive sensor in an M12 x 1 threaded housing 60 mm long, for flush mounting. Its sensing range is 1…6 mm, adjustable and factory-set to 4 mm; the real sensing range is 4 mm ± 10%. ifm lists it for dry bulk material and liquids. ifm gives correction factors of 0.6 for glass, 1 for water, 0.5 for ceramics and 0.4 for PVC. The PNP switching output is normally open, rated at 100 mA and up to 50 Hz, on 10…36 V DC. The sensor has a stainless steel (1.4404 / 316L) housing with a PEEK sensing face and connects through an M12 connector (A-coded, 3 contacts), and is rated IP65 for -25…70 °C ambient. Supplied with two lock nuts.
