The ifm IG5846 (IGB4010-CPKG/V4A/US-104-DPA) is an inductive proximity sensor in an M18 x 1 threaded housing 45 mm long, for non-flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 10 mm. The real sensing range is 10 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…8.1 mm. It has complementary PNP switching outputs, one normally open and one normally closed, rated at 250 mA and up to 300 Hz on 10…36 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.4 for brass, 0.3 for aluminum and 0.2 for copper. The sensor has a stainless steel (1.4571 / 316Ti) housing with a PBT sensing face, connects through an M12 connector (A-coded, 4 gold-plated contacts) and is rated IP67 for -25…80 °C ambient.
