The ifm IG5822 (IGB2005-ARKG/UP/US-100-IRS RT) is an inductive proximity sensor in an M18 x 1 threaded housing 52 mm long, for flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 5 mm. The real sensing range is 5 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…4.05 mm. The PNP/NPN switching output is normally open, rated at 150 mA and up to 700 Hz on 10…36 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.5 for brass, 0.4 for aluminum and 0.3 for copper. The sensor has a nickel-plated brass housing with a PC sensing face, connects through an M12 connector (A-coded, 4 contacts) and is rated IP67 for -25…80 °C ambient. Two lock nuts are included.
