The ifm IF5597 (IF-2004-FRKG/PH) is an inductive proximity sensor in an M12 x 1 threaded housing 71 mm long, for non-flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 4 mm. The real sensing range is 4 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…3.25 mm. The PNP/NPN switching output is selectable as normally open or normally closed, rated at 400 mA and up to 1500 Hz on 10…55 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.4 for brass, 0.3 for aluminum and 0.2 for copper. The sensor has a PBT housing, connects through a 2 m PUR / PVC cable with 2 x 0.34 mm² conductors and is rated IP67 for -25…80 °C ambient. Two lock nuts are included.
