The ifm IE5391 (IEK3004-BPKG/V4A/K1/AS) is an inductive proximity sensor in an M8 x 1 threaded housing 60 mm long, for non-flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 4 mm. The real sensing range is 4 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…3.25 mm. The PNP switching output is normally open, rated at 100 mA and up to 1000 Hz on 10…30 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. Its correction factor is 1 for steel, stainless steel, brass, aluminum and copper, so these metals are detected at the same distance. The sensor has a stainless steel (1.4404 / 316L) housing with an LCP sensing face, connects through an M8 connector (A-coded, 3 gold-plated contacts, snap-fit locking) and is rated IP65 and IP67 for -25…70 °C ambient. It is immune to magnetic fields. Two lock nuts are included.
