The ifm IE5457 (IEK3003-FRKG/IO/AS) is an inductive proximity sensor with IO-Link in an M8 x 1 threaded housing 50 mm long, for flush mounting. Over IO-Link it reports the target distance across 0.3…3 mm, with a linearity error of ± 3 % of the final value of the measuring range, and offers a configurable switch point of 0.56…2.8 mm. The PNP/NPN output is configurable as normally open or closed, rated at 100 mA and up to 600 Hz on 10…30 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.4 for brass, 0.4 for aluminum and 0.3 for copper. The sensor has a stainless steel (1.4404 / 316L) housing with a white LCP sensing face, connects through an M8 connector (A-coded, 3 gold-plated contacts) and is rated IP65, IP66, IP67, IP68 and IP69K for -40…75 °C ambient. It has UL approval under file E174191. Two lock nuts are included.
