The ifm IE5344 (IEBC003BASKG/0,3M/AS) is an inductive proximity sensor in an M8 x 1 threaded housing 36 mm long, for flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 3 mm. The real sensing range is 3 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…2.4 mm. The PNP/NPN switching output is normally open, rated at 100; (only in 2-wire operation) mA and up to 1000 Hz on 10…30 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.5 for brass, 0.4 for aluminum and 0.3 for copper. The sensor has a white-bronze-coated brass housing with a black LCP sensing face, connects through an M8 connector (A-coded, 3 contacts, snap-fit locking) and is rated IP67 for 0…60 °C ambient. It has UL approval under file E174191. Two lock nuts are included.
