The ifm CR721S (ecomatController/124) is a safety-rated programmable controller for mobile machines, programmed with CODESYS 3.5 to IEC 61131-3 on a 32-bit triple-core processor with 2.7 MByte RAM and 9 MByte flash. ifm lists 68 inputs (68 digital, 40 analog 0…10 V, 16 frequency up to 5000 Hz and 4 resistor inputs) and 56 outputs (54 high-side digital and PWM outputs switching 0.025…4 A, 36 of them current-controlled PWM-I, 6 H-bridges and 2 analog outputs of 0…10 V), plus a 5 V sensor supply. It has four CAN interfaces (CANopen, SAE J1939 and CANopen Safety), two Ethernet ports with an integrated switch and one RS232 interface. ifm rates it to ISO 13849-1 PL d, IEC 61508 SIL 2, IEC 62061 SIL 2, ISO 25119 AgPL d and ISO 26262 ASIL C.
