The ifm CR2042 (ioControl/In 8/Out 8/M12) is an I/O module for mobile machines with eight inputs, including four analog (0…20 mA or 0…32 V), four frequency and four resistor inputs, and eight short-circuit-proof outputs that can all be used as PWM or current-controlled PWM-I outputs. It is programmable to IEC 61131-3 with CODESYS 2.3, has two CAN interfaces (CANopen, SAE J1939 or free protocol, factory setting 250 kBit/s) and a 4-digit LED display with pushbuttons for setting parameters. It runs on 8…32 V DC (12 / 24 V nominal), measures 234 x 76 x 37.2 mm, is mounted on a backplane, connects through M12 connectors (A-coded, 5 gold-plated contacts) and is rated IP65 and IP67 for -40…85 °C ambient.
