Product overview

The ifm NI5004 (IIA2015-N/1D/1G/2G) is an inductive NAMUR sensor in an M30 x 1.5 threaded housing 41 mm long, for non-flush mounting. It is intended for hazardous areas and has a sensing range of 15 mm (real sensing range 15 mm ± 10%), normally closed, switching up to 200 Hz. It connects to certified intrinsically safe circuits with maximum values of U = 15 V, I = 50 mA and P = 120 mW; the nominal voltage is 8.2 V DC (1 kΩ), and outside the hazardous area it can run on 7.5…30 V DC with up to 30 mA. ATEX marking: II 1G Ex ia IIB T6 Ga Ta -20…70°C; approvals PTB 01 ATEX 2191, BVS 04 ATEX E 153 X, IECEx BVS 06.0003X, TIIS TC16109. ifm gives an internal capacitance of 145 nF and an internal inductance of 110 µH. Correction factors are 1 for steel, 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.5 for brass, 0.4 for aluminum and 0.3 for copper. The sensor has a specially coated brass housing with a PBT sensing face and connects through a 2 m PVC cable with 2 x 0.5 mm² conductors, and is rated IP67 for -20…80 °C ambient. Supplied with two lock nuts.
