The ifm IZ5046 (IZB31,5-BPKG/AS-514-TPS) is an inductive proximity sensor in a smooth tubular Ø 4 mm housing 41 mm long, for non-flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 1.5 mm. The real sensing range is 1.5 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…1.2 mm. The PNP switching output is normally open, rated at 100 mA and up to 1800 Hz on 10…30 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.5 for brass, 0.4 for aluminum and 0.3 for copper. The sensor has a stainless steel housing with a POM sensing face, connects through an M8 connector (A-coded, 3 contacts) and is rated IP67 for -25…80 °C ambient. ifm lists it for use where space is restricted and it has UL approval under file E174191.
