The ifm IIR206 (IIB2012BARKG/AM/SC/0,3M/US/2LE) is an inductive full-metal proximity sensor in an M30 x 1.5 threaded housing 40 mm long, for flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 12 mm, which ifm classes as an increased sensing range. The operating distance on steel is 0…9.72 mm. The PNP/NPN switching output is normally open, rated at 100 mA and up to 25 Hz on 10…30 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.7 for brass, 0.5 for aluminum and 0.1 for copper. The sensor has a weld-coated stainless steel (1.4404 / 316L) housing with a weld-coated stainless steel (1.4404 / 316L) sensing face, connects through an M12 connector (A-coded, 2 gold-plated contacts, rotatable locking) and is rated IP65, IP66, IP67, IP68 and IP69K for -40…85 °C ambient. ifm lists it for welding applications and it has UL approval under file E174191. Two lock nuts are included.
