The ifm IIR202 (IIK3012BANKG/AM/SC/US-104-DNS) is an inductive full-metal proximity sensor in an M30 x 1.5 threaded housing 65 mm long, for flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 12 mm, which ifm classes as an increased sensing range. The operating distance on steel is 0…9.7 mm. The NPN switching output is normally open, rated at 100 mA and up to 2 Hz on 10…30 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.7 for brass, 0.5 for aluminum and 0.1 for copper. The sensor has a weld-coated stainless steel (1.4404 / 316L) housing with a weld-coated stainless steel (1.4404 / 316L) sensing face, connects through an M12 connector (A-coded, 3 gold-plated contacts) and is rated IP67 for 0…85 °C ambient. The sensing face withstands 100 bar, it is immune to magnetic fields from welding currents with pulses under 200 ms and it has UL approval under file E174191. Two lock nuts are included.
