The ifm IGC249 (IGK34,5-BPKG/AM/US-104/K0) is an inductive full-metal proximity sensor in an M18 x 1 threaded housing 70 mm long, for flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 4.5 mm. The operating distance on steel is 0…3.64 mm. The PNP switching output is normally open, rated at 100 mA and up to 100 Hz on 10…30 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. Its correction factor is 1 for steel, stainless steel, brass, aluminum and copper, so these metals are detected at the same distance. The sensor has a stainless steel (1.4404 / 316L) housing with a stainless steel (1.4404 / 316L) sensing face, connects through an M12 connector (A-coded, 3 gold-plated contacts) and is rated IP68 for -25…70 °C ambient. The sensing face withstands 100 bar, ifm lists it for use with oils and coolants and it has UL approval under file E174191. Two lock nuts are included.
