The ifm IGM201 (IGKC012-ASKG/V4A/US-104) is an inductive proximity sensor in an M18 x 1 threaded housing 70 mm long, for non-flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 12 mm, which ifm classes as an increased sensing range. The real sensing range is 12 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…9.72 mm. The PNP/NPN switching output is normally open, rated at 100 mA and up to 200 Hz on 10…36 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.5 for brass, 0.4 for aluminum and 0.3 for copper. The sensor has a stainless steel (1.4404 / 316L) housing with a white LCP sensing face, connects through an M12 connector (A-coded, 3 gold-plated contacts) and is rated IP67 and IP69K for -40…85 °C ambient. It has UL approval under file E174191. Two lock nuts are included.
