The ifm IG512A (IGK3005-APKG/AM/US104DPO/3G/3D) is an inductive full-metal proximity sensor in an M18 x 1 threaded housing 70 mm long, for flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 5 mm, which ifm classes as an increased sensing range. The real sensing range is 5 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…4.05 mm. The PNP switching output is normally closed, rated at 100 mA and up to 100 Hz on 10…30 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.7 for brass, 0.5 for aluminum and 0.2 for copper. The sensor has a stainless steel (1.4404 / 316L) housing, connects through an M12 connector (A-coded, 3 gold-plated contacts) and is rated IP67 for -40…60 °C ambient. The sensing face withstands 100 bar. Two lock nuts are included.
