The ifm IF0287 (IFA2004-BBOW/SL/LS-100AK) is an inductive proximity sensor in an M12 x 1 threaded housing 77 mm long, for non-flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 4 mm. The real sensing range is 4 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…3.24 mm. It is a normally closed sensor for 20…250 V AC, with an AC load current of 200 mA (250 mA up to 50 °C) and a switching frequency of 25 Hz on AC. ifm specifies a fast-acting miniature fuse of 2 A or less in the supply. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.4 for brass, 0.4 for aluminum and 0.3 for copper. The sensor has a white-bronze-coated brass housing with a natural PBT sensing face, connects through a 1/2-inch connector (C-coded, 3 contacts) and is rated IP67 for -25…80 °C ambient. Two lock nuts are included.
