The ifm IF0005 (IFA2002-ABOW) is an inductive proximity sensor in an M12 x 1 threaded housing 71.5 mm long, for flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 2 mm. The real sensing range is 2 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…1.6 mm. It is a two-wire normally open sensor for 20…250 V AC, with an AC load current of 200 mA (250 mA up to 50 °C) and a switching frequency of 25 Hz on AC. ifm specifies a fast-acting miniature fuse of 2 A or less in the supply. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.4 for brass, 0.3 for aluminum and 0.2 for copper. The sensor has a white-bronze-coated brass housing with a natural PBT sensing face, connects through a 2 m PVC cable with 2 x 0.5 mm² conductors and is rated IP67 for -25…80 °C ambient. Two lock nuts are included.
