The ifm IE5292 (IEB32,5-BPKG/V4A/AS) is an inductive proximity sensor in an M8 x 1 threaded housing 50 mm long, for non-flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 2.5 mm, which ifm classes as an increased sensing range. The real sensing range is 2.5 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…2.03 mm. The PNP switching output is normally open, rated at 100 mA and up to 1200 Hz on 10…30 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.5 for brass, 0.4 for aluminum and 0.3 for copper. The sensor has a stainless steel (1.4404 / 316L) housing, connects through an M8 connector (A-coded, 3 contacts) and is rated IP65 and IP67 for 0…80 °C ambient. It has UL approval under file E174191. Two lock nuts are included.
