The ifm IM5117 (IMC3040-BPKG/US-100-DPS) is an inductive proximity sensor in a rectangular housing measuring 40 x 40 x 54 mm, for non-flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 40 mm. The real sensing range is 40 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…32.4 mm. The sensing face can be set to 5 positions. The PNP switching output is normally open, rated at 200 mA and up to 60 Hz on 10…36 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.4 for brass, 0.4 for aluminum and 0.3 for copper. The sensor has a PA housing with a black PA sensing face, connects through an M12 connector (A-coded, 4 contacts, rotatable locking) and is rated IP67 for -25…70 °C ambient.
