The ifm IFT245 (IFK3006-BPKG/AM/P/US) is an inductive full-metal proximity sensor in an M12 x 1 threaded housing 70 mm long, for non-flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 6 mm, which ifm classes as an increased sensing range. The real sensing range is 6 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…4.9 mm. The PNP switching output is normally open, rated at 100 mA and up to 250 Hz on 10…30 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 1 for stainless steel, 0.9 for brass, 0.8 for aluminum and 0.6 for copper. The sensor has a stainless steel (1.4404 / 316L) housing with a stainless steel (1.4404 / 316L) sensing face, connects through an M12 connector (A-coded, 3 gold-plated contacts) and is rated IP65, IP67, IP68 and IP69K for 0…100 °C ambient. The sensing face withstands 100 bar, ifm lists it for hygienic areas with regular cleaning and it has UL approval under file E174191. Two lock nuts are included.
