The ifm IFT222 (IFB3007-ANKG/M/V4A/US-104-DNS) is an inductive proximity sensor in an M12 x 1 threaded housing 50 mm long, for non-flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 7 mm, which ifm classes as an increased sensing range. The real sensing range is 7 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…5.7 mm. The NPN switching output is normally open, rated at 100 mA and up to 700 Hz on 10…36 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.5 for brass, 0.5 for aluminum and 0.4 for copper. The sensor has a stainless steel (1.4404 / 316L) housing with a PEEK sensing face, connects through an M12 connector (A-coded, 4 gold-plated contacts) and is rated IP68 and IP69K for 0…100 °C ambient. ifm lists it for hygienic areas with regular cleaning. Two lock nuts are included.
