The ifm IFR207 (IFB3004BBPKG/AM/SC/V4A/US-104) is an inductive full-metal proximity sensor in an M12 x 1 threaded housing 45 mm long, for flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 4 mm, which ifm classes as an increased sensing range. The real sensing range is 4 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…3.24 mm. The PNP switching output is normally open, rated at 100 mA and up to 2 Hz on 10…30 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.6 for brass, 0.5 for aluminum and 0.2 for copper. The sensor has a weld-coated stainless steel (1.4404 / 316L) housing with a weld-coated stainless steel (1.4404 / 316L) sensing face, connects through an M12 connector (A-coded, 3 gold-plated contacts) and is rated IP65, IP66, IP67, IP68 and IP69K for -40…85 °C ambient. The sensing face withstands 100 bar, it is immune to magnetic fields and it has UL approval under file E174191. Two lock nuts are included.
