The ifm IFC258 (IFK3003BBPKG/AM/V4A/US-104) is an inductive full-metal proximity sensor in an M12 x 1 threaded housing 60 mm long, for flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 3 mm. The operating distance on steel is 0…2.4 mm. The PNP switching output is normally open, rated at 100 mA and up to 100 Hz on 10…30 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.6 for stainless steel, 0.7 for brass, 0.6 for aluminum and 0.3 for copper. The sensor has a stainless steel (1.4404 / 316L) housing with a stainless steel (1.4404 / 316L) sensing face, connects through an M12 connector (A-coded, 3 gold-plated contacts) and is rated IP67 and IP68 for -25…70 °C ambient. The sensing face withstands 100 bar, ifm lists it for use with oils and coolants and it has UL approval under file E174191. Two lock nuts are included.
