The ifm IFC246 (IFK3008-BPKG/K1/V4A/US-104) is an inductive proximity sensor in an M12 x 1 threaded housing 65 mm long, for non-flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 8 mm. The real sensing range is 8 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…6.5 mm. The PNP switching output is normally open, rated at 100 mA and up to 2000 Hz on 10…30 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. Its correction factor is 1 for steel, stainless steel, brass, aluminum and copper, so these metals are detected at the same distance. The sensor has a stainless steel (1.4404 / 316L) housing with a white LCP sensing face, connects through an M12 connector (A-coded, 3 gold-plated contacts) and is rated IP68 for -25…70 °C ambient. It is immune to magnetic fields, ifm lists it for use with oils and coolants and it has UL approval under file E174191. Two lock nuts are included.
