The Allen-Bradley 1769-ASCII is a Compact I/O ASCII module that connects RS-232, RS-485 and RS-422 ASCII devices, with 2 full-duplex channels (RS-232, RS-422) or 2 half-duplex channels (RS-485). It draws 425 mA at 5.1V from the bus and has a power supply distance rating of 4 modules. Compact I/O modules lock together with a tongue-and-groove design and an integrated bus connector, mount on a DIN rail or panel, and work with 1769 CompactLogix controllers, as expansion I/O for a MicroLogix 1500 controller, or with a 1769-ADN DeviceNet or 1769-AENTR EtherNet/IP adapter; the module is rated for 0…60 °C (32…140 °F) operation.
