The Allen-Bradley 1756-SYNCH is a SynchLink fiber-optic module from Rockwell's ControlLogix 1756 range. It connects a ControlLogix chassis to a SynchLink fiber-optic link at 5 Mbps for time synchronization and data broadcasting in distributed motion and coordinated drive control: it coordinates system time across chassis, moves a limited amount of data between chassis at high speed and lets one controller consume motion axis data from a controller in another chassis. It has 2 fiber-optic ports for 200/230 micron HCS cable with Versalink V-System termination, 1…300 m long, and draws 1200 mA at 5.1 V DC. It installs in any slot of a 1756 ControlLogix chassis and takes one slot.
