The ifm IIC208 (IIK2015BFRKG/2LED/US-104) is an inductive proximity sensor in an M30 x 1.5 threaded housing 70 mm long, for flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 15 mm, which ifm classes as an increased sensing range. The operating distance on steel is 0…12.1 mm. The PNP/NPN switching output is selectable as normally open or normally closed, rated at 100 mA and up to 100 Hz on 10…30 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.5 for brass, 0.5 for aluminum and 0.4 for copper. The sensor has a white-bronze-coated brass housing with a white LCP sensing face, connects through an M12 connector (A-coded, 2 gold-plated contacts) and is rated IP68 for -25…70 °C ambient. ifm lists it for use with oils and coolants. Two lock nuts are included.
