The ifm IGS280 (IGB3015-BPKG/K1/US-104) is an inductive proximity sensor in an M18 x 1 threaded housing 45 mm long, for non-flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 15 mm, which ifm classes as an increased sensing range. The real sensing range is 15 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…12.15 mm. The PNP switching output is normally open, rated at 100 mA and up to 2000 Hz on 10…30 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. Its correction factor is 1 for steel, stainless steel, brass, aluminum and copper, so these metals are detected at the same distance. The sensor has a white-bronze-coated brass housing with a white LCP sensing face, connects through an M12 connector (A-coded, 3 gold-plated contacts) and is rated IP65, IP66, IP67, IP68 and IP69K for -40…85 °C ambient. It is immune to magnetic fields and it has UL approval under file E174191. Two lock nuts are included.
