The ifm IGS001 (IGK2008BARKA/M/LS-104AK) is an inductive proximity sensor in an M18 x 1 threaded housing 70 mm long, for flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 8 mm, which ifm classes as an increased sensing range. The real sensing range is 8 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…6.5 mm. It is a two-wire normally open sensor for 20…140 V AC/DC, with an AC load current of 200 mA and a switching frequency of 25 Hz on AC, or 200 mA and 25 Hz on DC. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.5 for brass, 0.4 for aluminum and 0.3 for copper. The sensor has a white-bronze-coated brass housing with a PBT sensing face, connects through a 1/2-inch connector (C-coded, 2 gold-plated contacts) and is rated IP67 for -25…70 °C ambient. It has UL approval under file E174191. Two lock nuts are included.
