The ifm IGC201 (IGB2012-ARKG/US-104) is an inductive proximity sensor in an M18 x 1 threaded housing 50 mm long, for non-flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 12 mm, which ifm classes as an increased sensing range. The real sensing range is 12 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…9.72 mm. The PNP/NPN switching output is normally open, rated at 100 mA and up to 250 Hz on 10…30 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.5 for brass, 0.4 for aluminum and 0.3 for copper. The sensor has a white-bronze-coated brass housing with a white LCP sensing face, connects through an M12 connector (A-coded, 2 gold-plated contacts) and is rated IP68 for -25…70 °C ambient. ifm lists it for use with oils and coolants and it has UL approval under file E174191. Two lock nuts are included.
