The ifm IG5505 (IGA3005-APKG/V4A/10M) is an inductive proximity sensor in an M18 x 1 threaded housing 80 mm long, for flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 5 mm. The real sensing range is 5 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…4.05 mm. The PNP switching output is normally closed, rated at 250 mA and up to 500 Hz on 10…36 V DC, with reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.4 for brass, 0.4 for aluminum and 0.3 for copper. The sensor has a stainless steel (1.4571 / 316Ti) housing with an orange PBT sensing face, connects through a 6 m PVC cable with 3 x 0.5 mm² conductors and is rated IP67 for -25…80 °C ambient. Two lock nuts are included.
