The ifm IE5222 (IEA2001-FRKG/PH) is an inductive proximity sensor in an M8 x 1 threaded housing 50 mm long, for flush mounting. Its rated sensing range is 1 mm. The real sensing range is 1 mm ± 10% and the operating distance on steel is 0…0.81 mm. The PNP/NPN switching output is selectable as normally open or normally closed, rated at 200 mA and up to 2000 Hz on 5…36 V DC, with short-circuit protection. On other metals the distance is reduced by ifm's correction factors: 0.7 for stainless steel, 0.4 for brass, 0.3 for aluminum and 0.2 for copper. The sensor has a white-bronze-coated brass housing with a PBT sensing face, connects through a 2 m PUR / PVC cable with 2 x 0.14 mm² conductors and is rated IP67 for -25…80 °C ambient. Two lock nuts are included.
